| Neuropsychological Testing and Evaluation |
Neuropsychological testing is useful in determining how intelligence, memory, language, motor skills, executive, social and emotional function affect learning and behavior in different settings like home, school and employment. A neuropsychological consultation is a comprehensive process that begins with a diagnostic interview to obtain information about symptoms affecting cognitive processes in thinking, reasoning, and behavior. Neuropsychological testing involves individually administered tests evaluating thinking, reasoning, learning and behavior. Neuropsychological testing takes between six to eight hours and is generally done on two separate appointments. After neuropsychological testing is completed a separate session is scheduled to explain neuropsychological test results and treatment recommendations. A comprehensive report is prepared that reviews the entire process regarding presenting concerns, neuropsychological test results and treatment recommendations.
A sample test battery will include tests for:
Intelligence Memory Language Executive Function Motor Skills
Social and Emotional Behavior Academic Performance
