Appointment Information
Appointments can be made for neuropsychological consultation, psychological testing and treatment and forensic consultation by contacting Neurocognitive Associates at 480-699-6740. Information will be taken regarding the services that you are interested in and we will provide you with information regarding payment. We do not accept commercial insurance at this time but will assist you with filing information to submit to directly to your insurance carriers for reimbursement.
Insurance will generally cover testing for disorders affecting the central nervous system and psychiatric conditions that occur with a neurological or developmental disability. Insurance will not cover testing for learning disabilities unless they occur with a biologically based neurological illness. Academic and vocational testing are generally not covered by health insurance. Patients are responsible for contacting their insurance carriers to determine whether their care will be reimbursed by a non-participating or "out-of-network" provider.
Neuropsychological testing is generally covered under the medical, not mental health, portion of your insurance program and is like seeing a physician for a medical consultation. Some insurance programs allow patients to make appointments independently while some programs require that patients obtain "prior authorization or approval" from their referring doctor. Some insurance programs allow for a Point of Service option that allows patients to see the specialist of their choice who may or may not be part of your insurance program.
